Natural Face Masks

Not all of us can afford to visit beauty salons regularly, but that doesn’t have to mean we can’t take sufficient care of our skin at home. Especially for those that can’t afford professional treatments or don’t have the time to go to beauty salons, natural face masks are an ideal option. The first thing we must take care of if we want to have beautiful and glowing skin is to have a balanced diet containing lots of fruits and vegetables, to avoid stress and to sleep enough hours each night to avoid dark circles and wrinkles.

The advantage of natural face masks is that you probably already have some products in the pantry or fridge that you can use to help your skin be firmer and healthier. Just like our bodies extract vitamins and proteins from foodstuffs, so will your face skin absorb all the natural goodies that it needs. Honey or olive oil make for great natural face masks, so applying them once or twice a week will work miracles on tired and lusterless skin. You can even combine them to make a more complete and efficient mask, like this: mix one teaspoon of olive oil with one tsp. of honey and two tsp. of apple cider. Apply the paste on your face and let it act for 10, 15 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water.

Yogurt and oatmeal are great ingredients for natural face masks, with the first helping to tone the skin and the latter being a great scrub. Here’s a more complex oatmeal infusion that you can try on the weekends or when you have a bit more time on your hands. You will need three tablespoons of herbs – like tea herbs –, a cup of boiling water and one tbsp. of ground oatmeal. You mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and place your face over the bowl while covering your head with a towel. You let the steam act on the face for at least 15 minutes, and then you come out and rinse with cold water to close the pores. Some of the best herbs you can use for this infusion are lavender, mint, thyme, basil, rosemary, parsley and sage. Yogurt is used in many skin masks and it is very good with dealing with light scars. Nevertheless, if you more serious problems that have caused skin pigmentation, natural masks may not be enough help, in which case you should try a skin lightening cream. Nowadays, there are countless products on the market, but before deciding on a particular skin lightening cream, you should first read some reviews.

If you suffer from oily skin, the best natural remedies you can find are lemon juice and apple vinegar, which you can just dab on the face with a cotton ball or pad. As you see, there are numerous natural ingredients you can use to help your face recover its health and tone.
