Not all of us can afford to visit beauty salons, but all of us care about how we look and about the health of our bodies, both on the inside and the outside. Almost the entire population suffers or has at some point suffered from skin problems, and we have been trying to find solutions for each of them since the beginning of civilization. Throughout history there have been numerous legends regarding the beauty rituals of powerful women. Most often these rituals included workout routines and beauty products made from fresh ingredients. It is widely known that homemade remedies are often more effective than pharmaceutical treatments, not to mention there are no side-effects or high prices for them. In this article we’ll focus our attention on some homemade facial masks that anyone can make and use at home with minimal costs and efforts. It is important to realize that these treatments are good for men just as they are for women, so they shouldn’t feel embarrassed to use them as well, especially since they can do it in the comfort and intimacy of their homes. The first thing you need to know it that the disequilibrium in your body usually tends to appear on your skin. Beauty masks will treat the effects of this unbalances (acne or breakouts) but unless you deal with the cause you won’t get rid of the problems. The best thing to do is embrace a healthy lifestyle which includes a healthy diet (such a diet should contain the daily necessary nutrients) as well as workout routines. Once you commit yourself to this life style you should use natural remedies in order to maintain your beauty.

One of our favorite homemade facial masks is the egg white and yogurt mask, because it is easy to make and it is suitable for all skin types. You mix one teaspoon of egg white and one of regular yogurt and apply it on the face; double the quantities if you think you need more composition. Apply gently on the face and leave for some 30 minutes, then rinse with warm water, followed by cool water to close the pores. Another mask requires you mix the yogurt with one tsp. of watermelon juice; this exfoliates and purifies the skin, leaving it hydrated and the same time. This mask should stay on the face and neck for 10 minutes, then rinsed off.

Other homemade facial masks that have proven their efficiency are the pineapple-melon mask and the green tea mask. The first mask requires you use 50 grams of pineapple, 50 of any type of melon except watermelon, 100 milliliters of water and eight grams of cosmetic corn starch, which can also be replaced by oatmeal or any other binder you have in the pantry. Mix the ingredients together well and leave on the face for 10-15 minutes. Remove it gently with a moist cloth. The green tea mask is made from green tea, a tablespoon of granulated sugar and half a tbsp. of lemon juice. This mask is ideal for acne and sensitive skin generally. You make a cup of very concentrated green tea and leave the teabags in for an hour. When the time is up remove them and put the tea in the freezer if it hasn’t cooled off enough. Take it out and mix the sugar and lemon juice in, then pat it on your face or and leave it so for at least 15 minutes, after which you can rinse and moisturize with a light cream. Aside from the recipes presented above, there are many more natural remedies that you can try. It is important to know which products have skin friendly properties. For example aloe and honey are amongst the most efficient products when it comes to skin problems. Honey skin care recipes are often used for sensitive skin.

There are countless homemade facial masks, and with a bit of research you can find them and give them a try, leaving your skin healthier than ever. Last but not least, aside for the fact that home made skin remedies are more efficient than cosmetic remedies, they are also a lot cheaper. For example a honey skin care recipe for sensitive skin requires only honey and one or two other ingredients found around the house such as bananas or yoghurt. As you can see, you don’t need a lot of money in order to have beautiful skin. All you have to do is take a trip to the market and make some time for a relaxing home-spa session.
